Analytical approaches compared

Predicting the nonlinear response of buckled beams is critical for structural integrity assessment but analytically challenging due to large-amplitude deflections.

Compare Modal, Galerkin, and Direct analytical approaches for predicting the physical behavior, stress distribution, and design margin of a buckled beam.

Modeled a buckled beam analytically using all three methods. Verified and validated predictions against ANSYS Mechanical 1D and 3D simulation models. Documented complete derivation, assumptions, and convergence analysis.

Achieved consistent agreement across mode shapes, natural frequencies, and nonlinear force-response amplitudes between all analytical methods and FEA. Identified which method best captures large-amplitude response with highest fidelity.
